for Play-Based Preschool

Playcrafter Kids is a rapidly growing play-based preschool that integrates creative arts into early childhood education. Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to guide and inspire our young learners. As a Lead Teacher, you will plan and implement creative, play-based curriculum that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and growth in children ages 3–5. This role offers the opportunity to integrate the arts into daily learning while ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Full-Time / Year Round:
School Year (August - May) & Summer Camps (June & July)
40 hours per week plus occasional evening and weekend events
Start date: 8/4/25
Salary:
This is an salaried position ranging from $40,360 - 42,140 based on experience, education and credentials.

Fort Collins, CO

Responsibilities:
As a Lead Teacher, you'll lead and support a creative team of educators, guiding children through play-based experiences that inspire joy, exploration, and growth. Key responsibilities include:
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
Design and execute engaging, play-based lesson plans that integrate creative arts, literacy, and STEM concepts.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students and encourage holistic development.
Classroom Leadership:
Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Model and enforce positive behavior expectations, fostering social-emotional learning.
Mentor and support assistant teachers, ensuring collaboration and teamwork.
Parent Communication:
Build strong relationships with families through regular updates and open communication.
Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and goals.
Safety and Organization:
Maintain a safe and clean learning environment.
Follow state and school protocols to ensure children’s health and safety.
About You: What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a passionate individual with:
1+ years work experience with children (ages 2-12) in educational or creative environments.
Level 2 on PDIS - meet CO state licensing requirements for early childhood teacher.
A background or strong interest in the performing arts (e.g., drama, music, dance, visual arts, theater tech).
An understanding of child development theories and how to apply them to playful, hands-on learning.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teachers, parents, providers, and community partners.
A nurturing, inclusive approach to teaching, with a passion for helping every child thrive.
A growth mindset and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Reliable and punctual.
You’ll also need to:
Pass state and federal background checks and fingerprinting.
Complete required CPR, First Aid, and PDIS classes within 30-90 days of hire.
